Fresh Sewing Day

1 Sep

How is it September already?

My little boy turns three on Wednesday.  THREE!  I didn’t cry when he turned one or two, but I may shed a few tears when he blows out his candles this year.  He’s not a baby anymore and not even a toddler anymore.  He’s a BIG BOY (and he lets me know every-single-day-ten-times-a-day).

I was able to work on a few projects this month and when you have a one and two year-old running around, any month you get to sew is a good month.

Here are links to each photo, if you would like to find out more:

1. Fab Little Quilt Swap    2.&3. Mod Mosaic Bee Blocks     4. Rockin’ Jelly Roll Quilt   5. Scrappy Lonestar Tutorial  6. New York Beauty Circle of Flying Geese  7. Vintage Sheet Quilt   8. Dishwasher Sign Tutorial   9.  Lonestar Quilt

I’ve never done a tutorial before and I did two this month!  I am hoping to do more in the future and already have a couple in the works for the upcoming months.  I learned all I know about quilting from free tutorials and quilt-alongs on the internet, so I am really happy to be able to give back.

You’ll have to bear with me for the next month, or two. My big project for September is packing up my house to move back to LA.  I have one quilting project to finish before packing up my sewing machine (sniff, sniff).

I may show signs of withdrawal…so watch out!

All of your projects look great but I am especially liking those bee blocks and that beautiful modern lonestar you made. I agree, I learned so much from free tutorials, I’ll be stopping by again to see what you’re up to next!

Happy Birthday to your little one! All the projects in your mosaic are beautiful – I don’t remember seeing the one in the lower left corner – I’ll have to take a closer look.
