Book Giveaway!

Do you remember the Farmer’s Wife 1930’s Sew-Along I mentioned the other day?  Well, I just happen to have an extra copy of the THE BOOK: “The Farmer’s Wife 1930’s Sampler Quilt” by Lauri Aaron Hird and I’m going to give it away to one of you!

I really hate to make my giveaways U.S. only, so here is what I am going to do: if you live in the U.S, I will pay for the shipping.  If you are international, you are still welcome to enter, but you will need to pay for the shipping.  I hope that doesn’t sound tacky!

The contest will be open until Thursday, September 3rd 11:59pm EST.  Winner will be selected by random number generator. All YOU need to do is leave a comment, any comment, to enter.

Good Luck!!

  9. Thanks so much for the opportunity, I have been wishing I could participate, but just can’t justify spending the money on me with Fall clothes shopping for the kids fast approaching!!! Fingers crossed!

  10. It would be wonderful to win this book. I really love that it has letters from the time period in it. What can I say, I’m a broke quilting history buff!

  11. I would really take care of the book…..if, that is what you need someone to do. Love the history in it. Thanks for the chance to win.

  12. Hi Janice, Your website was instrumental in my making my first diamond star quilt! Your instructional tutorial was perfect; until then I had no idea I could create it. I would love to win this book as it would keep inspiring me and also remind me with every quilt block, that it was you and betteroffthread that was the inspiration! Thanks again.

  13. I admire the fortitude and perseverance of these women, as well as the beauty of their quilts, and would love to quilt along with you.

  14. Fantastic I have the stash but not the cash, been trying to conserve. If I win I will join the sew a long, use my stash and keep on track with my out of control quilting appetite! Thank you for the opportunity. Fingers crossed!!

  15. It’s a bright sunny day here in the Midwest with the temps going into the lower 90’s this week. Looks like we’re getting our summer just before Fall.

Autumn is my favorite time of year and my brother is wanting to take me on a two week road trip to New England this year. Winning this book would give me the perfect excuse to stop at quilt shops along the way as I’d need new fabric for the blocks.

Fingers crossed and thanks for the giveaway!

  16. I just returned from an 11 day trip of 4343 miles around Minnesota for their annual quilt shop hop. I was looking for 1930’s fabrics and found some…ok. a lot. This book would be perfect to help me use up some of that collection. Fessin’ up. My fabric bill was larger than my combined gas, food, and lodging. So help me turn that fabric into something to cuddle under.

  17. I have watched with envy at everyone joining in this quilt along because it looks so fantastic when complete – I would love to make this quilt!!!

  18. Thank you so much for the open giveaway of Lauri A Hird’s The Farmer’s Wife 1930s Sampler Quilt book! Good luck to all!

  19. My grandmother was a farmer’s wife in the 1930’s (and many, many other decades) and I’d be thrilled to win this book and made a quilt in her honor. Thanks for the chance to enter.

  20. I am a beginner to quilting. I started sewing when I was a child in 4-H group. I was a farm kid most of my life, in NE, the land was first my grandpa’s and then was passed on to my dad. We built our home there and my dad was a pure farmer!! Everything I know about honor and work ethic I learned watching my dad farm. When I married, I had 3 little girls and I sewed for all of them. I made the sweetest little dresses, all alike!!! Because of health stuff I didn’t sew for a long time – I’ve had five brain tumors in my adult life and breast cancer. It hasn’t been a bad thing because God was with me the whole time and blessed my life with healing. I am 64 now and want to get back into my sewing – I have plenty of free time and my goodness, a pretty good sized fabric stash!!!! I would love to have a copy of your book, it would be an honor. Thank you!

  21. I’ve seen so many people love this book! I’d love to see what all the fuss is about! Thanks for the chance to win one!

  22. I pulled fabrics that I love for a project I decided I didn’t love. So, this book would be perfect to use that stash bundle!

  23. It would be so much fun to sew along with this group! I’m not quite a farmer’s wife, but I’m a wife to a guy who grew up on a farm! I’m also a proud Iowa girl!

  24. I have really wanted to start this project, but have resisted, due to the MANY others that have been started, but not completed. Well, if I won the book, I would have to participate in the sew along right?
Thanks for the fun giveaway, 30’s fabrics are my faves.

  25. Thank you so much for this offer! I would love to win a copy of the Farmer’s Wife book. I would make the blocks in modern prints!

  26. This wonderful book would be such a “treasure” to have in my quilting library!
I always love to see the beautiful FW completed blocks online.
Thanks for the chance! (PS: may the good luck fairy shine upon me)
