Book Giveaway!

30 Aug

T2131

Do you remember the Farmer’s Wife 1930’s Sew-Along I mentioned the other day?  Well, I just happen to have an extra copy of the THE BOOK: “The Farmer’s Wife 1930’s Sampler Quilt” by Lauri Aaron Hird and I’m going to give it away to one of you!

I really hate to make my giveaways U.S. only, so here is what I am going to do: if you live in the U.S, I will pay for the shipping.  If you are international, you are still welcome to enter, but you will need to pay for the shipping.  I hope that doesn’t sound tacky!

The contest will be open until Thursday, September 3rd 11:59pm EST.  Winner will be selected by random number generator. All YOU need to do is leave a comment, any comment, to enter.

Good Luck!!

It’s a bright sunny day here in the Midwest with the temps going into the lower 90’s this week. Looks like we’re getting our summer just before Fall.

Autumn is my favorite time of year and my brother is wanting to take me on a two week road trip to New England this year. Winning this book would give me the perfect excuse to stop at quilt shops along the way as I’d need new fabric for the blocks.

I just returned from an 11 day trip of 4343 miles around Minnesota for their annual quilt shop hop. I was looking for 1930’s fabrics and found some…ok. a lot. This book would be perfect to help me use up some of that collection. Fessin’ up. My fabric bill was larger than my combined gas, food, and lodging. So help me turn that fabric into something to cuddle under.

I am a beginner to quilting. I started sewing when I was a child in 4-H group. I was a farm kid most of my life, in NE, the land was first my grandpa’s and then was passed on to my dad. We built our home there and my dad was a pure farmer!! Everything I know about honor and work ethic I learned watching my dad farm. When I married, I had 3 little girls and I sewed for all of them. I made the sweetest little dresses, all alike!!! Because of health stuff I didn’t sew for a long time – I’ve had five brain tumors in my adult life and breast cancer. It hasn’t been a bad thing because God was with me the whole time and blessed my life with healing. I am 64 now and want to get back into my sewing – I have plenty of free time and my goodness, a pretty good sized fabric stash!!!! I would love to have a copy of your book, it would be an honor. Thank you!

Hi new quilter here, I just started quilting as a result of a car accident and in the process fell in love with quilting. I am always looking for new ideas and ways to fill my quilts with new and challenging techniques.Thank you for your ongoing efforts to give people a little knowledge and better their skills.
