Sew Cute Tuesday

10 Sep

Happy Tuesday, Everyone!

Better Off Thread

How is everyone?  My party crunch week is over and now I am on to sewing many projects for work.  That leaves me with little to show right now, but I’ll share when I am able!

Liam had a great time at his “Space Shuttle” party.  I attempted my first cake (I usually make cupcakes) and at times I thought it was going to fall apart, but here it is:

I was pretty proud of how it turned out, but now he’s going to expect this from now on, ha!

Ok, on to Sew Cute Tuesday. Check out these great projects from last week:

This week is all about  quilts with images on them, but I HAD to show this dress:

4

Pam at Threading My Way made this adorable frock and it’s called the “Pride and Prejudice Dress” (check out her blog for pattern details).  I love that it looks like a period costume, but in a pretty cotton it is perfect for everyday.

And speaking of adorable dresses, look at this “Dolly Dress Up Block” by Becca at Bryan House Quilts! She has a whole bunch of variations with different trims and embellishments on her blog.  They are so detailed and sweet!

2

This quilt by Kristy at Quiet Play is EPIC! She made all the main Star Wars characters into paper-pieced quilt blocks and made a quilt that any boy (or girl…or sci-fi geek) would treasure.  All the patterns are available for free on Craftsy, too. Go get them!

Sarah at Sarah Quilts made this sweet neighborhood quilt block and I am in love with the layout of the houses and the pieced background.  Yes, Sarah, I definitely want to see an entire quilt from these!

It’s time to link-up your projects from the past week!

The house quilt is so adorable. I have a thing for houses and love the block. Where can I find this pattern?

The cake looks great, I made a digger (excavator) cake for my 3 year daughter recently and was really pleased with how it turned out. The dress block looks amazing, I’ll have to check out that link. This is my first time participating in Sew Cute Tuesday – thanks for hosting it.

    Thanks Janice!

Awesome cake. My son’s birthday is tomorrow. I have a thing where I always ruin birthday cakes. Am cake failure.

At least it still tastes good!
