I am excited to be this week’s stop in the Sewing Accessories Book Blog Hop. Jamie at Sunflower Seeds and Jill at Constantly Quilting wrote this great book and it is full of fun, adorable, projects that are perfect to make for yourself or your sewing friends.
The patterns and instructions are well-written and each project is easily customizable to make personal, one-of-a-kind gifts for your sewing friends.
I really wanted to make the adorable embroidery pouch (which you can see on the front cover of the book), because I was leaving for a vacation and taking an embroidery sampler with me. I didn’t have enough time before heading out of town, though, so that will be my next project. I decided to make the Armchair Caddy instead. I love hand-sewing while watching TV in the evening, but my husband is always pulling pins out of the couch (oops!).
I finally cut into my coveted Echino fabric and paired it with a bright orange flannel for the caddy. That patchwork fabric is a cheater, so it just LOOKS like I pieced all those squares together. The project went together very quickly and easily and now I have somewhere to stash my tools on the couch.

Love those arm chair caddies…have had one for years….like the new mod look!
I really like the chair arm holder! I’d love to make one for my Mom who needlepoints a lot. Thanks for the chance to win.

I would make the embroidery pouch as well. I’m getting ready to start an embroidery quilt so it would be perfect!
I love the log cabin box on the cover of the book! Thankyou so much!!
I’d like to make a travel sewing caddy to take projects on holiday. Something small and portable.
Thanks for the post.
I would love to make a little sewing kit for my future daughter in law and son. EVERYBODY needs at least a little kit for emergency repairs. I know she told me in the past she has done some sewing, maybe the kit would get her back into the craft.
I would love to make an armchair caddy. I’m always sticking pins in the arm of my chair, probably not the best idea!!!
Everything! Lol but I want to make some of those gorgeous storage boxes for my scraps. And some embroidery bags for myself and my girls who stitch! 🙂
I like the armchair caddy. I usually stick my pins in the arm of my chair which is not such a good idea.
I need a thread catcher, the threads are slowly weaving themselves together and making a rug!
Great projects! Your armchair caddy turned out great! (I need me some of that ‘cheater’ fabric!) I could certainly use one of those (and I can see many uses for this outside of sewing – on my dad’s recliner for remotes, the cordless phone, etc). And I really need to make myself a pincushion (or two or three).
What a great giveaway!!
Awesome projects! I’d love to make the same project you did as well as a sewing machine caddy!! I’d also like to make a pin cushion! Thank you for the chance 🙂
I’d love to make the embroidery case to bring along my crochet work, and I need a new pincushion.
Thanks for the chance!
I love that armchair pincushion. I just made one similar to it and embroidered my name on the top. Hopefully my pins will be there instead of in the arm of the chair! I really enjoy making pin cushions.
HI! I’D LOVE TO MAKE THE THREAD CATCHER!
THANKS FOR SHARING!
That is absolutely adorable! I need to make one of those for myself! My husband is always finding pins and needles on the couch!
How cute! I like the little fabric basket for holding tools – I think that would be a lovely addition to my sewing room. Thanks for the giveaway!
What?! Sofa’ s aren’t just big pincushion? Thanks for the chance.
I need an armchair caddy like that. I just totally lost a spool of pearl cotton from my couch project.
I was just saying that I need to make a pin cushion to keep by my sewing machine. This might be the kick in the pants I need! (As my dad would have said.)
Thank you for a great give away! I have been thinking to make a sewing ‘box’ pouch where to have enough space to keep everything and in good oreder.

i’d love to make that armchair caddy or a travel sewing kit. thanks, love your caddy!
I need to make more pin cushions to leave in various bags that I take with me and one to actually leave at home and not borrow it as I currently do. Thanks for the opportunity!
I would love to have a caddy like your to hang over the arm of the couch. I am also guilty of leaving a trail of pins behind me! Thanks for the give away!
Love your armchair caddy…definitely something I’d love to make! Thanks for the sweet giveaway 🙂
The iron caddy looks fun and the pincushion. Thanks.
Thanks for the chance! I would love to make a sewing machine cover one of these days.

I would love to make a beautiful cover for my sewing machine. Thanks for the chance to win a great book.
I’d love to make an armchair caddy and a sewing machine cover! Thanks for the great giveaway!
I love your arm caddy. My husband is always getting on me about leaving pins about especially because we have two small children. But I really want to make a needle book or a special case for my embriodery or other handwork.
This is awful – I really need to make a pincushion. I haven’t got one, I just keep my pins in the pot they came in. I’ve been looking for crushed walnut shells in preparation but every pet shop I’ve asked in have just looked at me as if I was mad!
I have just started making accessories, so I’m open to pretty much anything! I’d love to win this great new book!!
I’d love another pin cushion.
I desperately need more pin cushions! I would love to win this book and try out some of the patterns, it looks super cute! Thanks for a great giveaway 🙂
i’m sure my husband would appreciate me making an armchair caddy!!!!
A thread catcher is just what I need! 🙂
The armchair caddy looks like a great idea–I have leather furniture now, and can’t poke pins in the arm any more.
I’d make the embroidery pouch, although I like the look of the armchair caddy too 🙂
i love that little patchwork box on the cover, though everything looks really sweet and fresh.
I would love to make the armchair caddy – such a nifty idea.
I would love to make the embroidery sewing caddy – so handy!
This looks like a great resource for my library od quilting books. I am always looking for things to make for my friends for Christmas presents we exchange each year. Sure hope that randomness generator picks me!
I could really use an arm chair caddy, so that’s what I would make first.
This looks like a very fun book. I’d just have to look it over to decide what i’d make first.
I love the armchair caddy! I also really need to make a sewing machine
cover. Thanks for the chance to win!
Love your armchair caddy – it’s perfect!! I made one a few years ago and love it, but it’s very “pretty” so might have to make a more “modern” one now to suit ME!!!
I’d like to make some pincushions in fun shapes. I’ve seen chickens and flowers before and that watermelon looks cute. Thanks for the chance to win!
Ooooo – how awesome is your armchair caddy!
I really really need to make myself a new pincushion! My old one was made in a terracotta pot which unfortunately broke when we moved! I am still using the top of it though. I guess one day I will get around to making myself a new one, just waiting for some inspiration to hit.
Lovely lovely book.. Just right to start making presents over the summer holidays for Christmas!!
I need a thread catcher as I always miss the trash bin!
I really need to make a machine cover. I have the hard one that came with my machine but I really would love to have a pretty fabric one instead. It would seem less sterile and more cozy.
I really should make an armchair caddy, I just did some sewing and gathered scraps from the couch last night, hopefully no pins were left behind. I could also use a little thread catcher.
I want to make a machine cover. I like that arm chair caddy too! Thanks for the chance to win.
I really must get around to making a thread catcher – I have a very bad habit of throwing bits of cut thread on the floor. Terrible, I know! Thank you for the chance to win this lovely book. Natalie 🙂
Love the armchair caddy! That is something I would definitely make and use! Thank you for this great giveaway!
Have a super great sewing and stitching day!
I would really like to make a sewing case, to carry larger projects around with me and so they don’t get all crushed in the bottom of my maxi handbag!
I ‘d love go make a thread catcher! Very cute book!
That watermelon slice is just too cute and would be the project of choice. They are all awesome! Thnx for the great opportunity!!! Hugs……
Love the stuff in the book, and need one of the chair arm caddies. Like yours for sure.
I would love to win this book. I am just starting to learn needle turn applique and the arm chair caddy would be great to make!
I would love to make the caddy!!!!! Too cute!
