Looking for a cheap, easy way to decorate an empty wall? Make some embroidery hoop wall art. You can customize the fabrics to match your decor and it’s perfect for over a baby crib, because it’s very light weight.
Mendocino Mermaids swim their way around tiny purple moons.
Sleeping Beauty helps Emmeline to catch Zzzzzz’s ALL night.
All you need to make your own hoop art is:
1. embroidery hoops in various sizes and
2. assorted fabrics.
You can buy the wooden embroidery hoops at Michaels or Jo-Ann’s for about $1.50 each. For the fabric, I suggest going to your local quilt shop and buying fat quarters (that’s an 18″x22″ piece of fabric).
I used the same Heather Ross and Echino Fabrics that I used in the rest of Emmeline’s nursery. Just stretch the fabrics over the hoops, tighten the screw at the top, and trim off the extra fabric. I tiny little nail keeps each hoop on the wall.
She looks THRILLED, doesn’t she?

This is in the works for my little one’s bedroom as well. I bought the hoops probably 9 months ago but I still haven’t decided which fabric to use but having seen your post, I’m very inspired and motivated to make my decision. I love all the fabrics you have chosen – you have so many of my faves in there!
