Pink Chalk Fabrics is spending the month of July showcasing where various crafters create and sew. I’ve been positively drooling over the beautiful sewing rooms and lamenting my lack of one. (I was downgraded to the dining room table after the birth of my daughter. You can see my prior sewing rooms here and here). I thought I would show everyone how the other half sews.
Here is my…uh…space, corner, nook, or some other word that means tiny and cramped.
I have my Janome, cutting mat, ironing board and design wall all within a space of about 5 square feet. Anytime I take a break from sewing, all my sharp tools go into the plastic craft bin on the table (There are lots of tiny, curious hands in my house).
I was feeling pretty badly about my lack of space, but taking these photos and writing this entry really made me appreciate it more.
I LOVE the natural light and the windows.
I enjoy hearing my husband play with the kids when I steal a few minutes away on the weekend.
I also appreciate that I have to keep it neat and minimal, so everything is quite easy to find.
It really is the best space for me right now, because I can sew for a few minutes here and there while my two toddlers are otherwise engaged, yet still in full view.

Thanks for stopping by! Right now, my design wall is held up with packing tape, ha! It was a recent addition and I need to figure out a non-permanent way to hang it, so that I can remove it when we have guests.
