Alison asked for Liberated Wedding Ring blocks this month for “Bee Happy”. I’ve never seen this block before and I always love a new challenge. She mailed beautiful fabrics in soft colors to make a quilt for her bed. I think her choices will make for a very soothing night’s sleep.
I hope you like your blocks, Alison, and I can’t wait to see your finished quilt!

Also, thank you for all the comments on here and flickr about the I-Spy Quilt. I’m going to piece it without sashing, once I have A LOT more blocks made. I think I may make it queen or king-sized, so that Liam and I can sit on it outside on the grass.
If anyone has any cute modern squares to spare, I am not above begging. Maybe a rogue gnome, or a unicorn that needs a new home. It is for a very good cause!

Those blocks are awesome. I made a quilt top and used black. Your blocks make me want to go back and make another out of whites or lights. Love it love it love it.

Thats very nice! I never saw that block before either. Only the double wedding rings.
What kind of fabric squares do you need? I have to wait until I get to Texas to see if I have anything. I know I have a unicorn, but haven’t even cut into it yet. I have mermaids too I haven’t even cut into.

A fairly new trend in wedding ring design has risen in popularity over the past few years and it’s based on something that is anything but new. Celtic wedding rings, wedding bands and engagement rings that are designed featuring classic Celtic knot work are adorning more and more matrimonial fingers than ever before, perhaps since the days of the Celts themselves. At one time these rings could only be special ordered from specific companies and were very costly. Today, however, with the rise in popularity of ancient Celtic design, many jewelers are carrying Celtic wedding rings and jewelry of all kinds on a regular basis.”
