English Paper Piecing

8 Feb

Oh little hexagons, how I love thee.

I actually started working on this English Paper Pieced project back in October, but I’ve been a very bad, bad blogger and I never shared them.  I love making these adorable little hexagons. Each one is like a tiny little work of art and they are so fun to stack and arrange in different configurations. It’s also a great way to feature your treasured stash of fabric without using much of it.

I’m not sure what I am making yet. A pot holder? A pillow? A quilt? (A quilt would take a LONG time!). I have seen a lot of examples of English Paper Piecing on Flickr and various blogs, but I haven’t seen very many completed projects. I think it is something you continue to add to over the years as you collect more scraps and make a couple hexagons here and there. It is also the perfect project to work on while lounging on the couch after baby goes to bed, or when you are traveling.

Here is a great tutorial, of you want to try it out yourself.
