Emmeline’s first birthday was coming up, and every little girl needs special dresses for her special day!
I’ve been making clothing long before I ever began quilting, but for adults, not toddlers. It’s pretty much the same, just tiny (less fabric, yay!) and kids are an easier fit.
I adore Oliver + S patterns and decided to make the “Family Reunion Dress”. It was really a breeze to put together and the sizing was spot on. All the extra little details are so precious.
The main fabric is from”Pinfeathers” by Carina Gardner. It’s called “Bird on a Wire Blue”. I’ve been eyeing it at the LQS for a long time, just waiting for the perfect project. The plaid is from Riley’s Blake’s “Hoo’s in the Forest”.
Look at those tiny little pin-tucks!
Top stitching on the hem:
For the second dress, I decided to cut into my last coveted piece of Flea Market Fancy “Pink Posies”. I made a pillowcase dress that is a little more fitted, and has contrasting facings.
Emmeline looked so cute for her photo shoot.

(I cropped the first image, so you could see a close-up of the dress.)
Thank you, Kellie, for the beautiful photos.
I’m linking up with TGIFF! Head on over and see what projects other bloggers have finished up this week!

I Love the Oliver+S patterns. I haven’t made any yet (my baby girl is just 5 months now), but like you I have been making clothes much longer than quilting. You know I have had my eye on the same pattern you made the blue dress from and now, no more waiting, I have to make it. You just did a marvelous job, very nicely done!
